Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation

His statement: إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً * فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا * عُرُبًا ("We brought them into being in a [new] creation; and We made them virgins; loving and devoted"). The Exalted, whose praise is sublime, says: We created them in a [new] creation and brought them into existence. Abū ʿUbayda said: What is meant by it are the ḥūr al-ʿīn (the celestial maidens with large eyes) whom He had mentioned earlier, for He said: وَحُورٌ عِينٌ كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً ("And celestial maidens with large eyes, like well-guarded pearls; We brought them into being in a [new] creation"). Al-Akhfash said: He referred to them implicitly, although He had not explicitly mentioned them before that.
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.
* Mention of those who said that:
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda: إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً ("We brought them into being in a [new] creation"), he said: We created them in a [new] creation.
Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya ibn Hishām related to us, on the authority of Shaybān, on the authority of Jābir al-Juʿfī, on the authority of Yazīd ibn Murra, on the authority of Salama ibn Yazīd, on the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding this verse إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً ("We brought them into being in a [new] creation"), he said: "From the previously married women and the virgins."
