And water poured out

    His statement: wa-māʾin maskūb ("and outpouring water"). The Exalted, praised be His mention, says: and therein is likewise outpouring water, that is to say: poured-out, flowing water that does not run in a channel or bed.

    Thus Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Mahrān related to us, on the authority of Sufyān, concerning wa-māʾin maskūb ("and outpouring water"), he said: it does not flow in a channel.

    وقوله: ( وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ ) يقول تعالى ذكره وفيه أيضا ماء مسكوب، يعني مصبوب سائل في غير أخدود. كما حدثنا ابن حُميد، قال: ثنا مهران، عن سفيان ( وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ ) قال: يجري في غير أخدود.
