Dark green [in color].

His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ ("two dark-green [gardens]") — the Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: two [gardens] that are blackish from the intensity of their greenness.
And in accordance with what we have said concerning this, spoke the exegetes of the Qurʾān (ahl al-taʾwīl).

ʿAlī related to me, saying: Abū Ṣāliḥ related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya related to me, on the authority of ʿAlī, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he says: two green [gardens].
Muḥammad ibn Saʿd related to me, saying: my father related to me, saying: my uncle related to me, saying: my father related to me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation; and it is said: two densely intertwined [gardens].
Mūsā ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Masrūqī related to me, saying: Muḥammad ibn Bishr informed us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid related to us, on the authority of Ḥāritha ibn Sulaymān al-Sulamī, he said: I heard Ibn al-Zubayr while he was explaining this verse on the pulpit, and he said: Do you know what مُدْهَامَّتَانِ is? Two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation.
Muḥammad ibn ʿUmāra — he is al-Asadī — related to me, saying: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsā related to us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid informed us, on the authority of Ḥāritha ibn Sulaymān — thus he said — he said: Ibn al-Zubayr said: مُدْهَامَّتَانِ: two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation.
Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm related to me, saying: Marwān ibn Muʿāwiya related to us, on the authority of Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid, on the authority of Ḥāritha ibn Sulaymān, that Ibn al-Zubayr said [concerning] مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: they are two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation.
Al-Faḍl ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ related to us, saying: Ibn Fuḍayl related to us, on the authority of ʿAṭāʾ, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, [concerning] مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens].
Abū Kurayb related to us, saying: Ibn Idrīs related to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of ʿAṭiyya, [concerning] مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation.
Muḥammad ibn ʿUmāra related to me, saying: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Mūsā related to us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Khālid informed us, on the authority of Abū Ṣāliḥ, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation.
Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Yaʿqūb related to us, on the authority of ʿAnbasa, on the authority of Sālim al-Afṭas, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, [concerning] مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: the abundant irrigation has covered them over with blackness and greenness.
He said: Ḥakkām related to us, on the authority of ʿAmr, on the authority of ʿAṭāʾ, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, [concerning] مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens].
Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr related to me, saying: Abū ʿĀṣim related to us, saying: ʿĪsā related to us; and al-Ḥārith related to me, saying: al-Ḥasan related to us, saying: Warqāʾ related to us, all on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two blackish [gardens].
Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he says: two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation, luxuriant.
Ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā related to us, saying: Ibn Thawr related to us, on the authority of Maʿmar, on the authority of Qatāda, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens] of abundant irrigation: when the greenness becomes intense, it inclines toward blackness.
Yaʿqūb related to me, saying: Ibn ʿUlayya related to us, on the authority of Abū Rajāʾ, on the authority of al-Ḥasan, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: luxuriant.
Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Mihrān related to us, on the authority of Abū Sinān, [concerning] مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two blackish [gardens] from the abundant irrigation.
Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said, [concerning] His statement وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ ("And for whoever fears the standing before his Lord, there are two gardens"), he said: the two gardens of the foremost (al-sābiqūn). Then he recited ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ ("two [gardens] with branches/varieties"), and he recited كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ ("as if they were rubies and coral"). Then he turned to the people of the right hand (aṣḥāb al-yamīn) and said وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ("and besides those two there are two [more] gardens"), and he mentioned their excellence and what is in them. He said: مُدْهَامَّتَانِ ("two dark-green [gardens]") from the greenness, through the intensity of their greenness, until they were nearly black.
Muḥammad ibn Sinān al-Qazzāz related to me, saying: al-Ḥusayn ibn al-Ḥasan al-Ashqar related to us, saying: Abū Kudayna related to us, on the authority of ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib, on the authority of Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, [concerning] His statement مُدْهَامَّتَانِ, he said: two green [gardens].
