His statement إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ ("Verily, the punishment of your Lord will certainly come to pass"). He, exalted is His mention, says to His Prophet ﷺ: إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ ("Verily, the punishment of your Lord will certainly come to pass"), O Muḥammad, that is to say: it will surely come and descend upon the disbelievers on the Day of Resurrection.
As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ ("Verily, the punishment of your Lord will certainly come to pass"): here falls the oath, إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ ("Verily, the punishment of your Lord will certainly come to pass"), and that is on the Day of Resurrection.
