His statement: أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ "Or do they have a god besides Allah?" He, whose praise is exalted, says: Or do they have an object of worship who deserves worship from them besides Allah, such that it would be permissible for them to worship it? He says: They have no god besides Allah, to whom belongs the worship of His entire creation. سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ "Glorified is Allah above what they associate with Him" — he says: a glorification of Allah, far exalted above their associating of partners and their worship of another alongside Him.
