The statement concerning the explanation of His word, the Exalted: أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ (42) ("Or do they intend a plot? But it is those who disbelieve who will be the victims of the plot.")

He, exalted is His mention, says: No, rather these polytheists (mushrikīn) intend, O Muhammad ﷺ, to devise a plot against you and against the religion of Allah. ( فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ ) He says: They are precisely the ones against whom the plot turns back and against whom the plot is contrived, not you. So put your trust in Allah, and continue with that which He has commanded you.
