Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.

And His statement ( فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِثْلِهِ ) — "Then let them bring a discourse like it" — He, exalted is His praise, says: then let those among the polytheists (mushrikīn) who make this claim bring a Qurʾān like it, for they are among the people who speak the language of the Prophet ﷺ, and it would not be impossible for them to produce something similar to that with which the Prophet ﷺ has come, if they are truthful in their claim that the Prophet ﷺ himself fabricated and invented it.
