They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

And His word: ( مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَصْفُوفَةٍ ) ("Reclining upon arranged couches") — which are placed in rows. And He left out His word "upon cushions," contenting Himself with the indication that what is mentioned already provides for that.
And His word: ( وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِينٍ ) ("and We unite them with large-eyed ḥūr"). He, exalted is His mention, says: and We unite the men among these God-fearing ones with spouses — large-eyed ḥūr among the women. One says: "pair (zawwij) this one shoe or this one sandal with that other one," in the meaning of: make them into a pair. And we have already explained the meaning of "zawj" (pair/spouse) earlier in a manner that makes it unnecessary to repeat here. And al-ḥūr is the plural of ḥawrāʾ, and that is she whose white of the eye is intensely white together with an intensely black iris.
And I have already mentioned the disagreement of the exegetes concerning that, and explained the correct view concerning it according to us with its proofs, in a manner that makes it unnecessary to repeat in this place. And al-ʿīn is the plural of ʿaynāʾ, and that is she who has large eyes, in beauty and width.
