And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.

The explanation of the words of the Exalted: فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ يَوْمِهِمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ (60) ("So woe to those who disbelieve because of their Day which has been promised to them") (51:60)
He, exalted is His mention, says: the valley in Hell (jahannam) that flows with foul discharge and pus is for those who disbelieved in Allah (kafarū) and denied His oneness, because of their Day on which the descent of the chastisement (ʿadhāb) of Allah has been announced to them — when it descends upon them — namely the calamity and misery that they will experience therein.
