And His statement إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ (Verily, those who disbelieve and turn away from the path of Allah) — the Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: Verily, those who have denied the oneness of Allah and have turned the people away from His religion with which He sent His messengers, (وَشَاقُّوا الرَّسُولَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى) "and who opposed the Messenger after the guidance had become clear to them." He says: and who opposed His messenger Muḥammad ﷺ, thus fighting him and inflicting harm upon him, after they knew that he was a sent prophet and a dispatched messenger, and after they had come to know the clear path by knowing him, and that he was a messenger of Allah.
And His statement (لَنْ يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئًا) "they will not harm Allah in anything," because Allah carries out His command, helps His messenger, and makes him victorious over whoever is hostile to him and opposes him. (وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ) "and He will nullify their deeds." He says: and He will cause their deeds, which they performed in this world, to vanish, so that they avail them neither in this world nor in the Hereafter, and He renders them void — except that by which they inflict harm upon them.
