The statement concerning the explanation of the words of the Exalted: فَكَيْفَ إِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ (27) — "How then will it be when the angels take them in death, striking their faces and their backs?" (27)
The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: and Allah knows the secrets of these hypocrites (munāfiqīn); how then would He not know their state when the angels take them in death, while they strike their faces and their backs? He says: their state at that moment likewise does not remain hidden from Him. And by "their backs" (al-adbār) He means their backsides. We have already mentioned the narration concerning that earlier.
