The Exalted, whose mention is blessed, says: And there became apparent to those who in the worldly life were disbelievers in the signs of Allah, the evil deeds of what they did of works in the worldly life — He says: there became manifest to them its hideousness and its evil, when they read the books of their deeds which the guardians used to record in the worldly life. "وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ" (and that which they used to mock encompassed them) — He says: and there encompassed them at that moment, of the punishment of Allah, that which they used to mock, when it was said to them that Allah would send it down upon whoever denied Him, on top of the evil deeds which they did of works in the worldly life.
