Explanation of the words of the Exalted: "This is a guidance; and for those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord there is a punishment of a painful torment" (45:11)
The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: this Qurʾān which We have sent down to Muḥammad ﷺ is a guidance — He says: a clarification and an indication toward the truth, which leads to a straight path whoever follows it and acts according to what is in it. "And those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord" — He says: and those who deny what is in the Qurʾān of signs that point to the truth, and who do not hold them to be true nor act according to them — for them, on the Day of Resurrection, there is a painful, agonizing punishment.
