أَمْرًۭا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ

[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]

    And His words: "as a command from Us; verily, We were ever sending" (44:5). The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: on this blessed night every wise matter is distinguished, as a command from Us.

    The Arabic philologists differed concerning the manner in which the word "amran" (as a command) stands in the accusative. Some grammarians of Kūfa said: it stands in the accusative on the basis of "We sent it down as a command and a mercy," as a circumstantial qualifier (ḥāl). And some grammarians of Baṣra said: it stands in the accusative on the basis of the meaning "every matter is distinguished, as a distinction and a command."

    وقوله ( أَمْرًا مِنْ عِنْدِنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ ) يقول تعالى ذكره: في هذه الليلة المباركة يُفْرق كلّ أمر حكيم, أمرا من عندنا. واختلف أهل العربية في وجه نصب قوله (أمْرًا) فقال بعض نحويي (2) الكوفة: نصب على (3) إنا أنـزلناه أمرا ورحمة على الحال. وقال بعض نحويي (4) البصرة: نصب على معنى يفرق كل أمر فرقا وأمرا. ------------------------ الهوامش: (2) في الأصل بدون نقطتين.
