And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper.

And His statement: وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الأرْضِ (And you cannot thwart [Him] on earth), He says: and you, O people, cannot escape your Lord by yourselves when He wills your punishment for the sins you have committed and your disobedience to Him to which you have surrendered yourselves, by fleeing upon the earth, so that you would thwart Him and He would have no power over you. Rather, you, wherever you are, are within His dominion and within His grasp, and His will is carried out upon you. وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ (And you have, apart from Allah, no protector), who would stand by you in defending you when He wills your punishment for your disobedience to Him. وَلا نَصِيرٍ (and no helper), He says: and there is for you, apart from Him, no helper who would help you when He punishes you, so that he might stand by you against Him. So guard yourselves, O people, against acts of disobedience to Him, and fear Him with regard to opposing Him in what He has commanded you or forbidden you, for there is no one who can avert His punishment from those upon whom He sends it down.
