( يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا ) (Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it): He says: those who are not certain of its coming ask you, O Muḥammad ﷺ, to make it come in haste, supposing that it will not come. ( وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا ) — He says: and those who held its coming to be true, and to whom Allah has promised the gathering therein, ( مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا ) — He says: they are apprehensive of its coming, fearful of its breaking forth, because they do not know what Allah will do with them therein. ( وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا الْحَقُّ ) — He says: and they are certain that its coming is the assured truth; they do not doubt its coming. ( أَلا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي السَّاعَةِ ) — the Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says: truly, those who dispute about the breaking forth of the Hour and wrangle over it, ( لَفِي ضَلالٍ بَعِيدٍ ) — He says: are in a straying from the path of guidance and in a deviation from the way of truth and right guidance, far removed from what is correct.
