The statement concerning the explanation of His saying, exalted is He: قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُمْ بِهِ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ ("Say: 'What do you think? If it is from Allah and you then reject it — who is more astray than he who is in extreme opposition?'") (52).
He, exalted be His mention, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: قُلْ ("Say"), O Muḥammad, to those who deny what you have brought them from your Lord, namely this Qurʾān: أَرَأَيْتُمْ ("What do you think"), O people, إِنْ كَانَ ("if it is") this which you deny مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُمْ بِهِ ("from Allah, and you then reject it") — are you not then in division and far removed from what is right? He put the report in place of the elaboration and said: مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ ("who is more astray than he who is in extreme opposition?"), since its meaning is understood.
And His saying: مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ. He says: say to them: who is further strayed from the intended path and treads another way more than the way of what is right, than he who is in division from the command of Allah and in dread of Him, far from right guidance?
