The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: WE ARE YOUR PROTECTORS IN THE WORLDLY LIFE AND IN THE HEREAFTER, AND FOR YOU THEREIN IS WHAT YOUR SOULS DESIRE, AND FOR YOU THEREIN IS WHAT YOU ASK FOR (31)
The Exalted, whose remembrance is exalted, says, while informing about the saying of His angels who descend upon these believers — those who have remained steadfast in obedience to Him — at their death: ( WE ARE YOUR PROTECTORS ), O community, ( IN THE WORLDLY LIFE ): We were therein your protectors. And it was mentioned that they are the guardians who recorded their deeds.
* Mention of who said that:
Muḥammad related to us, saying: Aḥmad related to us, saying: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī: ( WE ARE YOUR PROTECTORS IN THE WORLDLY LIFE ): we are the guardians who were with you in this world, and we are your protectors in the hereafter.
And His saying: ( AND IN THE HEREAFTER ) says: and likewise in the hereafter we are your protectors, just as we were protectors for you in this world. He says: and for you in the hereafter, with Allah, is what your souls desire of enjoyments and desires.
And His saying: ( AND FOR YOU THEREIN IS WHAT YOU ASK FOR ) says: and for you in the hereafter is what you ask for.
