فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًۭا وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَسْوَأَ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

But We will surely cause those who disbelieve to taste a severe punishment, and We will surely recompense them for the worst of what they had been doing.

    Allah, exalted is His praise, says: ( THEN WE SHALL SURELY MAKE THOSE WHO DISBELIEVED TASTE ) — namely the polytheists (mushrikīn) of the Quraysh who uttered this statement, in disbelief (kufr) toward Allah — a severe punishment (ʿadhāb) in the Hereafter, ( AND WE SHALL SURELY REQUITE THEM THE WORST OF WHAT THEY USED TO DO ). He says: and We shall give them, for that deed of theirs and for the rest of their deeds, the most hideous requital for the works that they performed in this world.

    قال الله جل ثناؤه: ( فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ) بالله من مشركي قريش الذين قالوا هذا القول عذابا شديدا في الآخرة ( وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَسْوَأَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ) يقول: ولنثيبنهم على فعلهم ذلك وغيره من أفعالهم بأقبح جزاء أعمالهم التي عملوها في الدنيا.
