And His words: وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي صَدَقَنَا وَعْدَهُ ("And they will say: 'All praise belongs to Allah, who has fulfilled His promise to us'"), meaning: those who were driven on in groups and who entered will say: Praise belongs purely to Allah, who has fulfilled His promise to us — the promise that He had made to us in the worldly life for our obedience to Him — and which He has today realized for us by carrying it out for us. وَأَوْرَثَنَا الأرْضَ ("and who has made us inherit the earth"), meaning: and who has made the land of Paradise (janna), which would have belonged to the inhabitants of the Fire had they obeyed Allah in the worldly life and entered it, into an inheritance for us from them.
As Bishr related to us, he said: Yazīd related to us, he said: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His words: وَأَوْرَثَنَا الأرْضَ ("and who has made us inherit the earth"), he said: the land of Paradise.
Muḥammad related to us, he said: Aḥmad related to us, he said: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī: وَأَوْرَثَنَا الأرْضَ ("and who has made us inherit the earth"): the land of Paradise.
Yūnus related to me, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Ibn Zayd said concerning His words: وَأَوْرَثَنَا الأرْضَ ("and who has made us inherit the earth"), he said: the land of Paradise, and he recited: أَنَّ الأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصَّالِحُونَ ("that the earth will be inherited by My righteous servants").
And His words: نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَاءُ ("We take up an abode in Paradise wherever we will"), meaning: we take for ourselves a house in Paradise and dwell therein wherever we love and desire.
As Muḥammad related to us, he said: Aḥmad related to us, he said: Asbāṭ related to us, on the authority of al-Suddī: نَتَبَوَّأُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ نَشَاءُ ("We take up an abode in Paradise wherever we will"): we settle ourselves in it wherever we will.
And His words: فَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ ("How excellent is the reward of those who act"), meaning: how excellent is the recompense for those who are obedient to Allah and who have worked for Him in the worldly life — namely Paradise, for whomever Allah has granted it in the Hereafter.
