And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning وما كانوا يعبدون من دون الله (“and what they used to worship besides Allah”): the idols.
ʿAlī related to me, saying: Abū Ṣāliḥ related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya related to me, on the authority of ʿAlī, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās, concerning His word فاهدوهم إلى صراط الجحيم (“then guide them to the path of Hellfire”); he says: lead them there. And it has been said: indeed, al-Jaḥīm is the fourth of the gates of the Fire (al-nār).
