And His statement ( وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ ) ("and he has set forth for Us a comparison and forgotten his own creation"): He says: and he has set forth for Us a likeness with his words ( مَنْ يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ ) ("who will revive the bones when they have decayed?"), since no one is able to bring that to life. He says: he thus likened Us to one who is unable to bring that part of creation to life. ( وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ ) ("and he has forgotten his own creation"): He says: and he forgot that it was We who created him, how We created him, and that he was nothing but a drop of sperm, after which We made it into a well-formed, speaking creature. He says: so he did not reflect upon Our creation of him, so that he might know that He who created him from a drop of sperm until he became a well-formed, speaking and acting human being is not incapable of bringing the dead back to life and remaking the decayed bones into human beings, in the form they had before decay.
