Tabari (1 passage)

And His statement ( وَمَتَاعًا إِلَى حِينٍ ) ("and an enjoyment until an appointed time") means: and that We may grant them enjoyment until a term that they reach. It is as if He said: and they are not saved, except that We have mercy upon them and grant them enjoyment until an appointed time.

And in accordance with what we have said about this, the scholars of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.

    * Mention of who said that:

Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda ( وَمَتَاعًا إِلَى حِينٍ ): that is, until death.
