Tafseer of Yaseen · Yaseen · 36:17

وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ

And we are not responsible except for clear notification."

    ( And upon us is nothing but the clear proclamation ) — it means: and upon us is nothing but that we convey to you the message of Allah with which we have been sent to you, a proclamation that makes clear to you that we have conveyed it to you. If you accept it, then you attain the share of your own souls; and if you do not accept it, then we have fulfilled what was incumbent upon us, and Allah is the Lord of the judgment concerning that.

    ( وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلا الْبَلاغُ الْمُبِينُ ) يقول: وما علينا إلا أن نبلغكم رسالة الله التي أرسلنا بها إليكم بلاغًا يبين لكم أنَّا أبلغناكموها، فإن قبلتموها فحظ أنفسكم تصيبون، وإن لم تقبلوها فقد أدينا ما علينا، والله ولي الحكم فيه.
