The discourse on the explanation of His statement, the Exalted: On that Day one shall have no power to bring about benefit or harm for another. And We shall say to those who did wrong: Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny (34:42).
The Exalted, whose mention is lofty, says: On that Day none of you — O angels — will be able to bring about any benefit for those who worshipped you in the worldly life, by which they might profit you, nor any harm by which they might afflict you or by which you might afflict them. And We shall say to those who did wrong — He says: and We shall say to those who worshipped something other than Allah and thereby placed worship in the wrong place and gave it to one for whom it is not fitting: Taste the punishment of the Fire which you in the worldly life used to deny — now you have indeed ended up in it.
