مَّلْعُونِينَ ۖ أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ أُخِذُوا۟ وَقُتِّلُوا۟ تَقْتِيلًۭا

Accursed wherever they are found, [being] seized and massacred completely.

    His statement مَلْعُونِينَ أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وَقُتِّلُوا تَقْتِيلا ("Accursed; wherever they are found, they are seized and killed, a thorough killing") — the Exalted, whose praise is exalted, says: driven away and banished. أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا ("Wherever they are found") — He says: everywhere on earth that they are encountered, they are seized and killed on account of their unbelief (kufr) in Allah, a thorough killing.

    And in accordance with what we have said about this, the people of interpretation (ahl al-taʾwīl) have spoken.

    Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda: مَلْعُونِينَ ("Accursed") under all circumstances, أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وقتلوا تَقْتِيلا ("wherever they are found, they are seized and killed, a thorough killing"), when they openly display their hypocrisy (nifāq). And the accusative in His statement مَلْعُونِينَ ("accursed") is on the basis of the reviling (al-shatm). It is also possible that "the few (in number)" is an attribute of the accursed, so that His statement مَلْعُونِينَ ("accursed") is referred back to "the few (in number)"; then the meaning would be: then they will keep you company therein only as a few, accursed in number, killed wherever they are encountered.

    وقوله ( مَلْعُونِينَ أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وَقُتِّلُوا تَقْتِيلا ) يقول تعالى ذكره: مطرودين منفيين (أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا) يقول: حيثما لقوا من الأرض أخذوا وقتلوا لكفرهم بالله تقتيلا. وبنحو الذي قلنا في ذلك قال أهل التأويل. * ذكر من قال ذلك: حدثنا بشر قال ثنا يزيد قال ثنا سعيد عن قتادة (مَلْعُونِينَ) على كل حال (أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوا أُخِذُوا وقتلوا تَقْتِيلا) إذا هم أظهروا النفاق. ونصب قوله: (مَلْعُونِينَ) على الشتم، وقد يجوز أن يكون القليل من صفة الملعونين، فيكون &; 20-329 &; قوله (مَلْعُونِينَ) مردودا على القليل؛ فيكون معناه: ثم لا يجاورونك فيها إلا أقلاء ملعونين يقتلون حيث أصيبوا.
