The statement concerning the explanation of His saying, the Exalted: إِنْ تُبْدُوا شَيْئًا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا (54) (Whether you disclose a thing or conceal it, indeed Allah is ever, of all things, All-Knowing) (54)
He, exalted is His mention, says: If you disclose anything with your tongues, O people, concerning the desiring of women, or anything else of what He has forbidden you, or the harming of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ by saying, "I shall surely marry his wife after his death" — أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ (or you conceal it), He says: or you conceal that within yourselves — فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا (indeed Allah is ever, of all things, All-Knowing), He says: indeed Allah is, of all that, and of other matters that concern you and that concern others, All-Knowing; nothing remains hidden from Him, and He will requite you for all of that.
