Tafseer of Luqman · Luqman · 31:9

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّۭا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

    خالدين فِيها ("abiding therein forever") (31:9) — He says: abiding therein unto infinity. وَعْدَ اللهِ حَقًّا ("a true promise of Allah") — He says: Allah has promised them a true promise, concerning which there is no doubt and which He will not break. وَهُوَ العَزِيزُ ("and He is the Almighty") — He says: and He is the Severe in His retribution against those who ascribe partners to Him (ahl al-shirk) and who turn away from His path. الحَكِيمُ ("the All-Wise") — in the governance of His creation.

    (خالدين فِيها) يقول: ماكثين فيها إلى غير نهاية (وَعْدَ اللهِ حَقًّا) يقول: وعدهم الله وعدا حقا، لا شكّ فيه ولا خلف له (وَهُوَ العَزِيزُ) يقول: وهو الشديد في انتقامه من أهل الشرك به، والصادّين عن سبيله (الحَكِيمُ) في تدبير خلقه.
