And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.

The statement concerning the explanation of His word, the Exalted: وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ (7) ("And those who believe and do righteous deeds — We shall surely efface from them their evil deeds, and We shall surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.")
Allah, whose praise is exalted, says: and those who believe in Allah and His Messenger, so that their faith (īmān) proves true in the trial and the testing with which Allah tried them, and who did not apostatize from their religion because of the harm that the polytheists (mushrikīn) inflicted upon them, وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ ("and do righteous deeds — We shall surely efface from them their evil deeds") which they committed in their past during their state of shirk, وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ("and We shall surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do") — he says: and We shall reward them for the righteous deeds that they performed in their Islam according to the best of what they used to do in their state of shirk, together with Our effacing of the evil deeds of their works.
