Tafseer of The Spider · Al-Ankaboot · 29:68

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers?

The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allah or denies the truth when it comes to him? Is there not in Hell an abode for the disbelievers? (68).

The Exalted, whose mention is exalted, says: and who, O people, is more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allah, such that, when they commit a vile deed, they say: "We found our forefathers practicing it, and Allah has commanded it of us" — while Allah does not command what is reprehensible. Or denies the truth when it comes to him — He says: or he who denies that with which Allah sent His Messenger Muḥammad, the Prophet ﷺ, namely the affirmation of His oneness and the freeing of oneself from the gods and the equals, when this truth comes to him from Allah. Is there not in Hell (jahannam) an abode for the disbelievers? — He says: is there not in the Fire an abode and a dwelling for whoever disbelieves in Allah, and denies His oneness and belies His Messenger ﷺ? This is an affirmation, not an interrogation; it is only like the words of Jarīr:

Are you not the best of those who mount the riding-beasts,

and the most generous of the worlds, with palms of rain? (1)

He only informs that for those who disbelieve in Allah there is a dwelling in the Fire, and an abode in which they remain.
