The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: مَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لآتٍ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (29:5) ("Whoever expects the meeting with Allah: truly, the term of Allah is surely coming; and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.") (5)
The Exalted, whose mention is high, says: whoever expects Allah on the Day of His meeting, and hopes for His reward, truly, the term of Allah which He has fixed for the resurrection of His creatures for requital and punishment is surely coming soon. وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ ("and He is the All-Hearing") means: and Allah, whose reward this expectant one hopes for at the meeting with Him, is the All-Hearing of his saying: "we believe in Allah," the All-Knowing of the truthfulness of his word — truly, he has believed — against the one who accuses him of lying in that.
