The explanation of the saying of the Exalted: وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ (28) (And Lot, when he said to his people: "Indeed, you commit the abomination that no one of the worlds before you has committed." (29:28))
The Exalted, whose remembrance is lofty, says to His Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ: And remember Lot, when he said to his people: "Indeed, you come to لَتَأْتُونَ the men مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا, that is: with the abomination that they committed — namely, coming to the men — مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ (no one of the worlds has preceded you in that)."
And in agreement with what we have said concerning this, the exegetes spoke.
* Mention of who said that:
Muḥammad ibn Khālid ibn Khidāsh and Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm related to me; they both said: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿUlayya related to us, on the authority of Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, concerning His saying: إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ — he said: No male ever mounted another male until the people of Lot came.
