Concerning His words: نَتْلُوا عَلَيْك — He says: We recite to you and relate to you in this Qurʾān of the account of مُوسَى وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ (Musa and Firʿawn in truth).
As Bishr related to us, saying: Yazīd related to us, saying: Saʿīd related to us, on the authority of Qatāda, concerning His words: نَتْلُوا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نَبَإِ مُوسَى وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ — he says: in this Qurʾān is their account.
Concerning His words: لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ — He says: for a people who believe in this Book and accept it as truth, so that they may know that what We relate to you of their account is therein, and so that their souls may be at ease — knowing that Our custom with those who fight you and regard you as an enemy among the polytheists (mushrikīn) is the same as Our custom with those who regarded Musa as an enemy: We destroy them just as We destroyed these, and We save the believers from their grasp just as We saved the Israelites from the grasp of Firʿawn and his people.
