The explanation of the word of the Most High — exalted and sanctified be His names —: طسم (1)
Abū Jaʿfar said: We have already set forth previously, in what has passed, the full explanation of the word of Allah ﷻ — طسم — and mentioned the mutual disagreements of the exegetes concerning its explanation. As for His word تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ ('These are the verses of the clear Book'): by it He means: these are the verses of the Book that I have sent down to you, O Muḥammad — the Book that makes clear that it is from Allah, and that you did not yourself invent it, nor did you compose it from your own contrivance.
