And His word اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ: the Exalted says: Allah, to whom alone worship is due, there is no god but He, there is no object of worship besides Him to whom worship is due — so be sincere to Him in worship, devote yourself to Him alone in obedience, and do not associate any partners with Him (shirk). رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ: by this He means: the Owner of the magnificent throne (ʿarsh), to which every throne, however magnificent, is subordinate — neither the throne of the queen of Sabaʾ nor any other throne is equal to it.
Yūnus related to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said, concerning His word أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ up to His word لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ: all of this is the statement of the hoopoe.
Ibn Ḥumayd related to us, saying: Salama related to us, from Ibn Isḥāq, the like of it.
