And His word وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ: he says: I found this woman, the queen of Sabaʾ, and her people of Sabaʾ, while they prostrate to the sun and worship it instead of Allah. And His word وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ: he says: Iblīs has made the worship of the sun and prostration to it instead of Allah appear fair to them, and has made that beloved to them. فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ: he says: by this making-fair he has restrained them from following the straight path, which is the religion of Allah with which He sent His prophets. The meaning is: he has turned them away from the path of the truth. فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ: he says: they do not find the way to the path of the truth and do not walk it, because of what Satan has made fair to them of the prostrating worship of the sun instead of Allah and of the disbelief in Him; rather, they wander on in their error.
