Tafseer of The Poets · Ash-Shu'araa · 26:5

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ

And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.

    Allah, exalted be His mention, says: There comes to these polytheists who deny you and reject what you have brought them, O Muḥammad, from your Lord — no reminder, no warning concerning the places where Allah's proofs regarding your truthfulness stand and the reality of that to which you call them — from what Allah reveals to you and inspires in you so that you may bring it to their remembrance — but they turn away from listening to it, neglecting to direct their understanding toward it and to ponder it.

    يقول تعالى ذكره: وما يجيء هؤلاء المشركين الذين يكذّبونك ويجحدون ما أتيتهم به يا محمد من عند ربك من تذكير وتنبيه على مواضع حجج الله عليهم على صدقك, وحقيقة ما تدعوهم إليه مما يحدثه الله إليك ويوحيه إليك, لتذكرهم به, إلا أعرضوا عن استماعه, وتركوا إعمال الفكر فيه وتدبره.
