So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].

فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ (And the sorcerers were cast down in sujūd) — that is to say: when it became clear to the sorcerers that what Mūsā had brought them was the truth and not sorcery, and that it was something of which no one is capable except Allah, who created the heavens and the earth without any pre-existing material substance, they fell down upon their faces in prostration before Allah, submissive to Him in obedience, and acknowledged to Mūsā that what he had brought them was from Allah and was the truth, and that what they had performed of sorcery was false.
