قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ

They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers

    قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ (They said: Put him and his brother off, and send forth into the cities gatherers) — the Exalted, in His remembrance, says: the chiefs around him answered Pharaoh by saying to him: put Moses and his brother off, and grant him a respite.
