فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."

    Allah, exalted is His praise, says: If your near kinsfolk, O Muḥammad, whom You have been commanded to warn, disobey you and cling to the worship of idols and to the ascribing of partners (shirk) to the All-Merciful, then say to them: إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ — from the worship of idol-images and from disobedience toward the Creator of mankind.

    يقول تعالى ذكره: فإن عصتك يا محمد عشيرتك الأقربون الذين أمرتك بإنذارهم, وأبوا إلا الإقامة على عبادة الأوثان, والإشراك بالرحمن, فقل لهم: (إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ) من عبادة الأصنام ومعصية بارئ الأنام.
