عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ

Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners -

    عَلَى قَلْبِكَ — He says: the Trustworthy Spirit descended with it and recited it to you, O Muḥammad, until you had memorized it with your heart. And His statement: لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنْذِرِينَ — He says: so that you would be among the messengers of Allah who warned those to whom they were sent from among their people, and so that with this revelation you might warn your people who deny the signs of Allah.

    وقوله ( عَلَى قَلْبِكَ ) يقول: نـزل به الروح الأمين فتلاه عليك يا محمد, حتى وعيته بقلبك. وقوله: ( لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنْذِرِينَ ) يقول: لتكون من رسل الله الذين كانوا ينذرون من أرسلوا إليه من قومهم, فتنذر بهذا التنـزيل قومك المكذّبين بآيات الله.
