إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً (Truly, in that is a sign) — Allah, the Exalted, says: In Our destruction of the people of Lūṭ with the destruction that We have described — because of their denial of Our messenger — is truly a lesson and admonition for your people, O Muḥammad, so that they may take heed from it regarding their denial of you and their rejection of what you have brought them from your Lord of the truth. وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ (And most of them were not believers) in accordance with the prior knowledge of Allah.
