وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

And do not obey the order of the transgressors,

    Allah, exalted be His remembrance, says, relating what Ṣāliḥ said to his people from Thamūd: Do not obey, O people, the command of the transgressors who excessively sin against themselves by persisting in disobedience to Allah and by daring to provoke His wrath.

    يقول تعالى ذكره مخبرا عن قيل صالح لقومه من ثمود: لا تطيعوا أيها القوم أمر المسرفين على أنفسهم في تماديهم في معصية الله, واجترائهم على سخطه.
