And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.

وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي (And my breast is constricted) on account of their denial of me if they deny me. The word وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي stands in the nominative as a conjunction to "akhāfu" (I fear), and in this nominative most of the reciters of the great centers also read it; its meaning is: and indeed, my breast is constricted. And His word: وَلا يَنْطَلِقُ لِسَانِي (and my tongue does not speak fluently) — that is to say: he does not speak easily with words about what You send me with to them, on account of the affliction that struck his tongue. And His word وَلا يَنْطَلِقُ لِسَانِي is a clause conjoined to "yaḍīqu" (is constricted). And His word فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَى هَارُونَ (so send for Hārūn) — by it he means Hārūn, his brother, and he did not say: "send Hārūn to me so that he may support me and help me," because the meaning of the words was already clear; this is like one who says: "If a calamity were to strike us, we would seek refuge with you," with the meaning: we would seek refuge with you so that you may help us.
