وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

    وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ (And I ask of you no reward for it) — that is to say: I seek from you no recompense nor reward for my charging you to fear Allah. إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (My reward rests only with the Lord of the worlds) — that is to say: my recompense and reward for my sincere counsel to you rests solely with the Lord of the worlds.

    ( وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ) يقول: وما أطلب منكم على أمري إياكم باتقاء الله جزاء ولا ثوابا.( إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ) يقول: ما جزائي وثوابي على نصيحتي إياكم إلا على ربّ العالمين.
