And not a devoted friend.

وَلا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ — from among the close relatives.
The exegetes differed among themselves about who is meant by the intercessors and the devoted friend (al-ṣadīq al-ḥamīm). Some said: by the intercessors the angels are meant, and by the devoted friend the blood relative.

Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj: فَمَا لَنَا مِنْ شَافِعِينَ — he said: from among the angels; وَلا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ — he said: from among the people. Mujāhid said: a devoted friend (ṣadīq ḥamīm) — he said: a brother.
Others said: they are all from the descendants of Adam.

Zakariyyā ibn Yaḥyā ibn Abī Zāʾida related to me, saying: Isḥāq ibn Saʿīd al-Baṣrī al-Musmaʿī related to us, on the authority of his brother Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Musmaʿī, who said: when Qatāda recited فَمَا لَنَا مِنْ شَافِعِينَ وَلا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ , he said: "By Allah, they know that the friend, when he is righteous, is of benefit, and that the blood relative, when he is righteous, acts as an intercessor."
