Allah the Exalted says: these will be rewarded with the lofty abode for their patience, while they abide therein — that is to say: they remain in it eternally without end; how excellent is that lofty abode as a permanent dwelling and abode for them! He says: and a place of residence.
His word قُلْ مَا يَعْبَأُ بِكُمْ رَبِّي — the Exalted says to His Prophet ﷺ: say, O Muḥammad, to those to whom I have sent you: what does He reckon of you, and what does your Lord do with you? Of this one says: "I reckoned with him" (ʿabaʾtu bihi aʿbaʾu ʿabʾan), and "I prepared the perfume" (ʿabaʾtu al-ṭība aʿbaʾuhu) — when one has prepared it; as the poet said:
"As though upon his breast and his shoulders was a fragrance that a bride had prepared the night before."
He says: he prepared it and made it, prepared it (yaʿbaʾuhu ʿabʾan wa-ʿubūʾan). And of this is their expression: "I equipped the army" (ʿabbāʾtu al-jaysh) — with doubling and without — "I equip it": I make it ready. And al-ʿibʾ is the burden.
In accordance with what we have said concerning this, the exegetes also spoke.
