And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

The Exalted and Praised says: And those who spend the night before their Lord praying to Allah - alternating between prostration (sujud) and standing upright (qiyam) in their prayer. And His word: وَقِيَامًا (and standing) is the plural of qa-im (one who stands), just as al-siyam (the fasting) is the plural of sa-im (one who fasts).
