He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."

Al-Qāsim related to us, saying: al-Ḥusayn related to us, saying: Ḥajjāj related to me, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, on the authority of Mujāhid — the same.
And His word لَقَدْ أَضَلَّنِي عَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَنِي — Allah, glorious is His praise, says, informing about this regretful one concerning what he did in the worldly life of disobedience to his Lord in obedience to his friend: He has indeed led me astray from belief in the Qurʾān — that is: al-dhikr (the Reminder) — after it had come to me from Allah, and he turned me away from it. Allah then says: وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِلإنْسَانِ خَذُولا — that is: He forsakes a person regarding what befalls him of trial, without saving or delivering him.
