And the fifth [oath will be] that the wrath of Allah be upon her if he was of the truthful.

His statement: وَالْخَامِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا ... the verse — He says: And the fifth testimony: that the wrath of Allah (ghaḍab Allāh) be upon her if her husband is among the truthful in what he has charged her with concerning fornication (zinā). The reading of وَالْخَامِسَةُ (the fifth) in the nominative (rafʿ) in both verses is on the basis of the sentence that directly follows it.
